Hello! My name is Greg Proctor or as the kids say 'Coach Greg',
Owner & Director of Idaho Youth Tennis.
I have been involved with tennis for young athletes for the past 15 years.
For the past seven years I have instructed 3-6 year olds in a 'Little Tennis' program. I loved this concept so much that I decided to make it my life's commitment and started the Idaho Youth Tennis program in 2003!

I am currently a USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) member. This will give you, the parent or organization, the knowledge and comfort that I am following the proper guidelines that a nationally recognized organization has developed to be the best for young tennis athletes! This membership also allows me to have an 'on court' liability insurance program to protect your child!
I have also taught wheelchair tennis the past 15 years here in Idaho. I am also a wheelchair tennis athlete that competes in many local and national tennis tournaments. My highest ranking was 138th top wheelchair tennis athlete in the world. I also compete in local adult leagues where I play with, and against, able-bodied tennis players.

I am also a member of the Idaho Wheelchair Tennis Association (IWTA). The IWTA provides wheelchair athletes the opportunity to expand their tennis skills with a summer/winter league, youth & adult clinics, and financial support for members to attend local and national tournaments. I helped conceive a up/down tournament, the first organization in the nation to develop and run a up/down league and tournament. Up/down tennis is a doubles format with an able-bodied athlete and a wheelchair athlete as a team. The USTA (United States Tennis Association) liked the program so much they took over the program and now hosts a national up/down tournament in Las Vegas every year!

In 2004, I received an award from the Governor of Idaho, Dirk Kempthorne and the Vocational Rehabilitation Agency. The award was for being 'Rehabililtation of the Year'. The certificate states:
'The IDVR congratulates you on your perseverance in overcoming your barriers to employment. We applaud your dedication to your goal and recognize you as the 2004 Rehabilitation of the Year for the Boise East Region.'

I am also the USTA's Intermountain Section Wheelchair Committee's Chairperson. We are committed to grow the number of new wheelchair tennis players in the Intermountain Section. In 2004, Boise hosted a Wheelchair Tennis Camp for over 25 beginning to advanced wheelchair tennis athletes. We brought in Randy Snow as the lead instructor. He is the most accomplished wheelchair athlete in the world!!! I encourage you to check out his web site to get a feel for what kind of a person that inspires us all to accomplish anything we set our minds to to attain!!!!!
I know what it takes...professionally, physically, and mentally, to make tennis a life-long sport for your child!!! I have also found that to make your child excel at tennis, the first lesson is to have lots of
FUN! ! !
