Idaho Youth Tennis uses a narrower and shorter net for the 4 - 6 year olds.  Some children can be intimidated by the higher net used on a real tennis court.  It is also easier for your child to hit the ball over a shorter net, making their tennis experience more successful.

A slightly larger, foam tennis ball designed by PENN is used so the 'little athletes' can track the ball easier and be unafraid if a ball happens to make contact with the child.

We also use 21", 23", and 25" inch HEAD racquets.  These racquets are smaller and lighter and have been designed especially for your 'little athlete'.

Idaho Youth Tennis will always provide racquets to all 'little athletes' who need to borrow one or they can always bring their own.

We have also found that 12" colored dots help the 'little athlete' be in the right spot.  They are also used in our warm-up activities.
